DAY 2: CASABLANCA - RABAT - MEKNES - VOLUBILIS - FEZ (B.D)
We begin day two with our journey to Fez. On this trip, we will visit Rabat, which is the first Moroccan imperial city in our itinerary. Rabat has been the official and administrative capital of Morocco since 1912. You will explore the dramatic Kasbah of the Oudayas, the Mohamed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower.
After that, you'll go past beautiful vast farmlands where vegetables, olives, grapes, and grains are grown. Before we get to Fez, we will first stop at Meknes and visit the Volubilis; the site of the popular Roman ruins which was the Roman Empire's southern outpost. In Meknes, we will find the location of the first Arab dynasty built by Moulay Ismail. You can also find the Bab Mansour and the Medersa Bou Inania which make up the gateway to the palace of Moulay Ismail. From here we move forward to the Hri es-Souani, the granaries and the horses stable. From the granaries, upstairs on the rooftop, we will find a garden and a café that presents a great view of the city. Then day two ends with our arrival and booking of your hotel in Fez.
DAY 3: FULL-DAY GUIDED TOUR OF FEZ (B.B)
After your breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the oldest Medina in the world which will be led by our official local tour guide. This tour will include a visit to the markets (souks), a stop at the Royal Palace gate, the University and the Karouine mosque dating back to the 9th century. We will also visit the tomb of the founder of the city (Moulay Idriss II). We will have lunch at any of the local restaurants in the Medina after which our tour continues with a visit to the Najarine Fountain, the Batha Museum and the old Harem Garden. Our journey will take us to Azrou (the name which means ‘rock’) where we will see the volcanic protrusion on the outskirts of the village. On this visit, we intend to show you why Azrou is well-known for their precious red carpets and fine woodwork. We will have lunch at Azrou and continue to Beni Mellal through a mountainous road then to the majestic Ouzoud Waterfalls. We will have dinner and rest for the day at a hotel/Riad here.
DAY 5: OUZOUD WATERFALLS - MARRAKECH
After your breakfast, we will enjoy a lovely view of the High middle. We then continue our tour with a visit to the Ouzoud Waterfalls passing through a woody mountain.
